
BTS performed a general building inspection, energy audit and assessment of the building’s compliance with New Hampshire Fire Code and Life Safety Code requirements and provided a written analysis and report. This lead to many improvements including full reconstruction of the floor system, lead paint and asbestos abatement, roof repairs and improvements to fire detection and building insulation. These improvements have helped in preserving a historic landmark while improving both functionality and safety of the building in its current use as the Chamber of Commerce and daycare. |
The Kingswood Youth Center has served the youth of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire for many years and in the fall of 2009 the center moved into its newly constructed 3,000 square foot facility. Bergeron Technical Services worked with the contractor first, to determine overall compliance of the building with the requirements of the New Hampshire State Building Code and later to provide accessibility review and certification. Through our assistance, the Town has a new facility that is compliant with the requirements of the State Building Code, the State Fire Code and all accessibility requirements. |

Beginning with inspections in 2004, BTS has worked with the Notchland Inn to develop a Life Safety Improvement Plan that was approved by the State of New Hampshire Department of Safety. We have worked with the owners in implementing the approved plan and have overseen the design and installation of a full fire detection and occupant notification system, water based fire suppression system and complete reconfiguration of the buildings electrical system including new distribution equipment and back-up generation. |
The Sanford Manor, Sanford, Maine - 2009
BTS developed a Life Safety improvement plan that could be implemented to bring the building up to today’s Life Safety Code and State of Maine requirements. Our plan is leading towards the installation of updated smoke and fire detection, carbon monoxide detection and the installation of water based fire suppression. The plan is designed to be implemented over a period of three to five years so as to keep the City and State content and yet not financially burden the property owner |

BTS performed a pre-sale building and Life Safety Code based inspection to assist the buyers during the purchase. Our pre-sale inspections can point out serious code deficiencies that have to be addressed as many aspects of the Life Safety Code are retroactive and by knowing which improvements are going to be necessary the purchaser can plan accordingly. |

The Whitney Community Center is a new 5,000 SF building project in Jackson, New Hampshire completed in March of 2009. We worked with the Whitney Foundation Board of Directors and the Jackson School District, beginning with interviewing and hiring an architect, working with the Jordan Institute to develop goals for sustainable design, working with the Architect to develop architectural plans and specifications, providing budget estimates, coordinating with engineering design professionals, developing the bid package and running the bid process. Bergeron Technical then provided project administration services including monitoring, inspecting and providing quality control for the project. The Whitney Community Center houses a 250 seat auditorium, a community kitchen and community art room, a small conference room and restroom facilities. |
The Conway Historical Society – Salyards Center for the Arts located in Conway Village, NH is a renovation project that that we were involved in from the inspection of an existing property to handing over the key to the newly renovated space to the Board of Directors. Bergeron Technical Services worked with the Board to develop the architectural plans for the renovation, provided cost estimates, developed a bid package, ran the bid process and provided project administration services throughout the renovation. We also obtained the necessary permits and approvals on behalf of the owners.

When the Bowes’ went to obtain a building permit to construct two additions on to their existing home on Silver Lake they were met with the challenge of having to obtain a NH Department of Environmental Services Shoreland Impact Permit. They contacted Bergeron Technical Services and we promptly took control of the permitting process, providing the Shoreland Pre-Existing Features Plan, Post Construction Plan, filling out the application and providing the required calculations for the permit. The Bowes received their NHDES Shoreland Permit for construction of 2 additions to their home and a new garage within 6 weeks of contacting BTS. Bergeron Technical Services LLC has experience with permitting at both state and local levels. |
BTS was initially contacted by the owners of the Old Village Store to perform a Building Use Analysis to determine what could be done with the building. The owners chose to continue working with BTS and have us provide project administration for the renovation of the building as an old fashioned general store with a craft studio and residential space. Our project administration included reviewing the remodel plans for life safety and general building code compliance, placing the project for bid, contractor recommendation, drawing up a project contract, and site inspections during the remodel process. BTS also helped to obtain both food service and liquor licenses for the store. |

Bergeron Technical Services worked with the Town of Wolfeboro to complete an analysis of the overall structural condition and safety of the Town’s municipally owned buildings. The buildings included in this project were the Wolfeboro Public Safety Building, the Wolfeboro Public Works Highway Garages, the Wolfeboro Solid Waste & Recycling Facility, the Libby Museum and the Dockside Restaurant. Each building was inspected for compliance with The International Building Code, NFPA and State of NH requirements, a Life Safety Code analysis was also performed for each structure. Cost estimates for improvements were provided for each building to meet code requirements and improve the safety of the building for the public and Town employees. |
Work for the Appalachian Mountain Club has taken Bergeron Technical Services personnel from mountain summits to seaside locations, from the southern reaches of New York northward to the Canadian Border. Fire Island, New York was one such facility where the inspection report led to many Life Safety Code improvements being made to this structure and grounds. |

One of Bergeron Technical Services first large projects was the relocation and administration of the renovation of the old Madison Town Hall which included improving the Life Safety Code aspects of the building and improving the building systems up to today's more efficient and more comfortable standards. Our company was responsible for all design management, permitting, and construction administration to move and renovate the building. |
