Interests, Work History and Desirable Skills: A successful candidate for this position will have an interest and a work history in architecture and be interested in growing both as an individual and as a consulting professional. Applicants should be a licensed architect in the State of NH or have sufficient education and work history so that NH architect license acquisition will be possible within the first six months of employment. From the beginning you will need to effectively work with AutoCAD and Revit, Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and need to have had some exposure to Publisher and PowerPoint. Experience in the building or fire code enforcement or consultation field is also considered valuable and pertains to a lot of what we do. At Bergeron Technical we always place immense value on experience and portfolio.
Partial Job Description: Each day brings new challenges and things to do. One day you might be measuring and documenting existing buildings and systems and the next you may be designing and drawing a building renovation, new structure or building system. Over time working with us you will be learning about building code, fire codes, building and systems design and land-use regulations, and incorporating these codes and regulations into your building designs. To fit into our work place, you must be up for new challenges, willing to learn and be flexible. Ours is a small company where each employee must be willing and capable of jumping in to any project at any time. While architectural design and drafting will be your main focus, assisting coworkers in other areas and services will be necessary. If you are a great candidate and a good fit within our group we are going to help in those areas you are not familiar with. You must also be comfortable working with a wide variety of people and personalities as you will work directly with clients, our partners and affiliates, State & local agency officials, and general contractors and their subcontractors.
Work Environment: The work environment can vary drastically from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. Much of your work will be in the office at your workstation. However, there will be times when you’ll need to climb up onto roofs, into attics, or crawl beneath buildings. You will sometimes work on active construction sites and outdoors, exposed to the elements for extended periods of time. Some days we get filthy as we investigate buildings and systems, or while inspecting one of our construction projects.
Company Information: We are a small company, currently four employees, that offers an array of services to our clients. We have been in business since 1999 and pride ourselves in finding answers for our clients. We also have excellent relationships with local contractors, municipal and State agency employees, and State & local officials. Make sure that you thoroughly investigate our website to become familiar with the type of work that we do before you apply.
How to Apply: Send a cover letter and resume to Linda at the email address or PO Box listed above (or click the button at the bottom of this page to send an email). Please do not walk in and please do not call the office. If you email your information we will acknowledge receipt. If you send your resume by mail, you will not receive an acknowledgement of receipt. All information submitted is received and held in the strictest of confidence. We will never release any information or let anyone know you may be considering working with us.
Wages & Benefits: Initially this is an hourly position with pay being commensurate with experience. The work week is 32 to 40 hours, beginning around 8:30 each day and ending around 5:00. All new employees are first employed on a trial basis for 60 days. After 60 days if we mutually agree that you are a good fit with the company you will become a regular employee. Benefits for regular employees are paid holidays, 5 personal days, and a contribution towards health insurance.
