Required Skills: A working knowledge of AutoCAD drafting software in architectural and mechanical system design. You will also need to work effectively with Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Publisher, Excel and Powerpoint. A degree in architecture, mechanical or civil engineering will be valuable, but we always place immense value on experience and portfolio, regardless of education.

Job Description: Measuring and documenting existing buildings and systems. Design and drafting of renovations, new structures, building systems, such as electrical and fire protection, always applying building and fire code requirements as you work. Responsibilities will increase as you become more knowledgeable and more comfortable with the projects that you are assigned to. The willingness to learn proper application of all ICC and NFPA Codes and Standards is significant.You must be willing to learn and be flexible in this position as we are a small company where each employee must be willing and capable of jumping in to any project at any time. We are completely willing to help a great candidate in areas they are not familiar with. You must also be comfortable working with a wide variety of people and personalities as you will work directly with clients, our partners and affiliates, State & local agency officials, and general contractors and their subcontractors.

Work Environment: Where you will work can vary drastically from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. Much of your work will be in the office at your workstation. However, there will be times when you’ll need to climb up onto roofs, into attics and crawl beneath buildings. You will also work on active construction sites and outdoors exposed to the elements for extended periods of time. Some days we get filthy as we investigate buildings and systems, or while inspecting one of our construction projects… all of this goes with the territory.

Wages & Benefits: Initially this is an hourly position with pay being commensurate with experience. The work week is 32 to 40 hours, beginning around 8:30 each day and ending around 5:00. All new employees are first employed on a trial basis for 9 weeks. After 9 weeks if we mutually agree that you are a good fit with the company you will become a regular employee. Benefits for regular employees are paid holidays, 5 personal days, and a contribution towards health insurance.
