CONWAY — After being brought in three sections via flatbed trailer over the Kancamagus Highway from Lincoln early Tuesday, the fabled Flying Yankee was back on the former Boston & Maine Railroad tracks now owned by the Conway Scenic Railroad by 11:41 a.m. for the first time since the sleek, 1935-vintage locomotive was retired in 1957.

NH Hampshire Adopts Updates to Fire Code

Effective August 13, 2024, the State Fire Code will be updated to the 2021 editions of NFPA 1 and NFPA 101

NH State Building Code Update in effect as of July 1, 2024

Effective July 1, 2024 the NH State Building Code adopts the 2021 Editions of the IBC, IRC, IPC, IMC & IEBC. Please Note that the 2018 Edition of the International Energy conservation Code remains adopted. These Codes are in effect, though the previously adopted 2018 Editions may still be used for projects permitted through January 1, 2025.

CONWAY — Ushering in a new era in multi-stage residential design, the Conway Planning Board on July 28 gave unanimous conditional approval to the expansive, 83-acre Ridgeline Community to be developed by Continuum Health Services LLC north of Kennett High in Redstone.

CONWAY — Following a full site-plan review July 14, the Conway Planning Board gave unanimous 7-0 conditional approval to the Bluebird Project LLC to create eight rental apartments in the historic 19th-century former Bunker Building at 109 Pine St. in North Conway Village.

Planning board member Eliza Grant recused herself from the discussion, as she is a partner with Kit Hickey in the Bluebird Project LLC, a local for-profit housing group.

Project consultant Kate Richardson of Bergeron Technical Services of Conway reviewed how the project last month received a special exception and variance from the Zoning Board of Adjustment for greater density.
