Partial Job Description: Each day brings new challenges and things to do.  One day you might be assisting our Project Management with measuring and documenting existing buildings and systems and the next you may be in the office assisting with administrative duties.   Over time working with us you will be assisting with projects that include building codes, fire codes, building and systems design and land-use regulations.  Tasks will include information requests from local government entities, assisting with application and project paperwork, assisting with updating and maintaining the company website, developing project proposals, and contacting and scheduling appointments with clients and contractors. Ours is a small company where each employee must be willing and capable of jumping into any project at any time. You must also be comfortable working with a wide variety of people and personalities as you will work directly with clients, our partners and affiliates, State & local agency officials, and general contractors and their subcontractors.

Work Environment: The work environment can vary drastically from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. Much of your work will be in the office at your workstation. However, there will be times when you’ll need to travel to municipal offices or accompany project managers to projects sites. You will sometimes work on active construction sites and outdoors, exposed to the elements for extended periods of time.

Wages & Benefits: Initially this is an hourly position with an hourly wage ranging from $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills. The work week is Monday through Friday, and this position is flexible in terms of days and hours worked per week. The office is generally staffed 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Interests, Work History and Desirable Skills: A successful candidate for this position will have no less than five years of experience working with municipal land use ordinances such as Zoning Ordinances, Site Plan Review and Subdivision Regulations, preferably in New Hampshire.  The candidate must be interested in growing both as an individual and as a consulting professional and must be interested in improving their abilities so as to be able to work with an array of clients on projects small through very large.  Experience as a municipal planner and/or zoning code specialist will be given the most serious consideration.  The ability to properly interpret ordinances and guide a project from conceptual, through permitting (which will often include representation of the project before land use boards) is very important. Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat software required. Experience with CAD drafting software is a plus.

Partial Job Description: Bergeron Technical regularly assists clients in the interpretation and application of land use ordinances, filling out permit applications and representing clients before zoning boards, planning boards and building code boards of appeal.  This can be a pressure cooker role and each day will bring on new challenges and things to do.  You’ll have to be comfortable working with a wide variety of people and personalities.  In this role you’ll be as much a teacher as you will be a specialist. An ability to manage and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, subconsultants and design team members is key to being successful in this position. This role will also include assisting the Project Management team with similar projects and administration of construction projects such as recording meeting minutes, assistance with generating reports and reviewing paperwork for accuracy.

Work Environment: The work environment for this role will generally be in the office but there will often be both site visits and visits to government offices.

Interests, Work History and Desirable Skills: A successful candidate for this position will have a work history, strong interest and education in municipal building inspections.  The candidate must be interested in growing both as an individual and as a consulting professional and must be interested in improving their abilities so as to be able to work in an array of disciplines.  Upon hire you must be certified by the International Code Council (ICC) as a Commercial Inspector having successfully passed the ICC’s “B2” exam.  Candidates with additional Certifications will be given greater consideration.

Partial Job Description: Bergeron Technical presently acts as the Code Enforcement Official/Agency for one municipality here in the Mount Washington Valley and is interested in expanding this service.  In this role you would be performing and acting as any other municipal “building inspector” but when not working in that role, you will be working on other commercial inspection projects or plan reviews.  Each day will bring on new challenges and things to do.  Over time, working at Bergeron Technical, you will be expected to expand your knowledge and levels of certification so as to better serve our clients. You’ll have to be comfortable working with a wide variety of people and personalities as the north country has fallen far behind in code knowledge so at times you’ll be as much a teacher as you will be a Code Official.

At times you’ll be in the office but at other times you’ll need to climb up onto roofs, down into holes, up into attics, or crawl beneath buildings. The candidate must be interested in growing both as an individual and as a consulting professional and must be interested in improving their abilities so as to be able to work in an array of disciplines.  Upon hire you must be permitted in the State of NH as a Designer of Subsurface Disposal Systems and be fluent in using Carlson Survey or AutoCAD software to design systems.

Partial Job Description: Bergeron Technical provides residential and small commercial septic design services to their clients. You will be responsible for meeting clients on site, coordinating with excavation contractors for test pits, performing fieldwork using a total station and data collector, drafting and designing septic systems using CAD software (specifically Carlson Survey), and communicating with clients and review agencies. Over time, working at Bergeron Technical, you will be expected to expand your knowledge to better serve our clients.
