CURRENT OPENING: BUILDING INSPECTOR

Contact Information: Email to [email protected]

Snail Mail to: “Job Opening”, Bergeron Technical Services, PO Box 241, North Conway, NH 03860

Interests, Work History and Desirable Skills: A successful candidate for this position will have a work history, strong interest and education in municipal building inspections.  The candidate must be interested in growing both as an individual and as a consulting professional and must be interested in improving their abilities so as to be able to work in an array of disciplines.  Upon hire you must be certified by the International Code Council (ICC) as a Commercial Inspector having successfully passed the ICC’s “B2” exam.

Partial Job Description: Bergeron Technical presently acts as the Code Enforcement Official/Agency for one municipality here in the Mount Washington Valley and is interested in expanding this service.  In this role you would be performing and acting as any other municipal “building inspector” but when not working in that role, you will be working on other commercial inspection projects or plan reviews.  Each day will bring on new challenges and things to do.  Over time, working at Bergeron Technical, you will be expected to expand your knowledge and levels of certification so as to better serve our clients. You’ll have to be comfortable working with a wide variety of people and personalities as the north country has fallen far behind in code knowledge so at times you’ll be as much a teacher as you will be a Code Official.

Work Environment: The work environment can vary drastically from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. At times you’ll be in the office but at other times you’ll need to climb up onto roofs, down into holes, up into attics, or crawl beneath buildings. You will often work on active construction sites and outdoors, exposed to the elements for extended periods of time.

Company Information: We are a small company that offers an array of services to our clients. We have been in business since 1999 and pride ourselves in finding answers for our clients. We also have excellent relationships with design professionals, local contractors, municipal and State agency employees, and State & local officials. Make sure that you thoroughly investigate our website to become familiar with the type of work that we do before you apply.

How to Apply: Send a cover letter and resume to Linda at the email address or PO Box listed above (or click the button at the bottom of this page to send an email). Please do not walk in and please do not call the office. If you email your information, we will acknowledge receipt. If you send your resume by mail, you will not receive an acknowledgement of receipt. All information submitted is received and held in the strictest of confidence. We will never release any information or let anyone know you may be considering working with us.

Wages & Benefits: Initially this is an hourly position with pay being commensurate with experience. The work week is 32 to 40 hours.  Our days usually begin around 8:30 and end around 5:00.  That said, all of us have family commitments that are important so when these arise, we usually try to allow schedules to adjust accordingly. All new employees are first employed on a trial basis for 60 days. After 60 days if we mutually agree that you are a good fit with the company and you want to continue, you will become a regular employee. Benefits for regular employees after the trial period are paid holidays, 5 personal days and a contribution towards health insurance.
